Killer Marigolds.

We had this patch of nothing in the front of the house as well as random patches of nothing along the side. One day last spring (remember last spring?? remember it was eighty something in March?) I purchased a couple of boxes of marigold seeds at the Family Dollar store here in town. I was not expecting much other than to maybe see if something would actually grow. There are 600 gazillion seeds in a box. They actually looked more like dust than anything else. I watered and weeded and watered and watered. I still water and weed. Every freaking day. The front patch started to come in and produced a few flowers. I was fairly impressed. Then, stuff started to grow on the side. They looked like marigolds but then again, they were growing differently. There were a lot of them so I moved a few to the front of the house. I watered these things like 3 times a day. Finally… they turn out to be marigolds from hell or somewhere!

  1. LOL They appear to be a tall version of French Marigolds (as opposed to African Marigolds, which have a larger flower). That’s some good work, Lou.
